Threads of Vernal

In my previous post "Embroideries of Spring" early this month, I now bring the continuation in "Threads of Vernal". 

Though Malaysia is a 2-seasons country, we sees the spring season quietly making itself known with blooms of flowers everywhere.

1. Frangipani - Floral aroma, fruity nuances. Different species offer slightly different scents, ranging from creamy-sweet in white varieties to spicier or citrusy notes in red and pink varieties
2. Moss Rose - a type of succulents, also known by other common names such as sun rose or Mexican rose. 
3. Creeping Zinnia - Sanvitalia
4. Lantana camara. It has several common names, including:  Common Lantana / Lantana / Shrub Verbena / Wild Sage 
5. Bougainvillea 
6. Marigold - comes from "Mary's gold, aromatic foliage 
7. Passion Flower - aromatic 
8. Periwinkle - Pink Periwinkle or Eose Periwinkle, known as Kemunting Cina in M'sia 
9. Ruellia tuberosa, also known as minnieroot, fever root, snapdragon root and sheep potato
Widely known as Madagascar Periwinkle, Rosy Periwinkle, Vinca, or Sadabahar in various regions. New arrivals to the planter boxes. 🤩

Seasons:
1. Vernal for Spring - from the Latin word vernālis
2. Aestival (or Estival) for summer
3. Autumnal for autumn/fall, and 
4. Hibernal (or Brumal) for winter
