Dusty Boots & Archery

Image
11 Dec - Today at archery class we downloaded a score sheet app which helps keep track of our marks during practice. I shot 5 ends (shoots) of 6 arrows each , for a total of 30 arrows , and achieved a total score of 261 points . This gives an average of 52.2 points per end and 8.7 points per arrow .   After a while, the arrows went every where, to the coach's dismay :D  Despite wearing an arm guard, the bowstring still hit my arm twice. :( 3 days later, the bruise is still colorful. The game is fun but not so whenever I sustain a bruise.  In the evening.... We took a walk at The Kota @ PJ in the evening. Was tempted to go for the Denai Forest but since its evening the thoughts of mozzies discouraged us. In the past the parking spaces at this recreation place was free of charge but when nearby business district workers starts parking there users have to now pay per hour, M...

Miri, Sarawak | 13-17 Nov 2025

13 Nov : All of us got up before the crack of dawn only to read a message from Air Asia informing us that our 930am flight to Miri will be delayed to 11am+, then in the airport while waiting, we were informed it'll be delayed again to 1pm+. The twice delay messed up our plans in Miri. We were so tired upon arrival that we checked in to Jinhold Serviced Apartments and opted to eat in its in-house Mak Restaurant .  Too tired to do much we ordered pizzas, to our surprise it was good, so good we ordered them again on our stay before our trip back to Semenanjung. 14 Nov : Before we went to buy all the stuff for the program in Niah National Park (NNP), we went for a  dim sum breakfast. (1) Reasonably priced dim sum (2) Must have kolo mee . This is a red kolo mee , I prefer the original one, nicer & not sweet. (4-5) Next door -  local goodies. At night, we went for dinner at a friend's house - all local dishes  15-16 Nov ...

To Lawas, then Ba'kelalan (17-24July 2024)

17-24July 2024 - Our journey, from KLIA to KKIA to Lawas to Ba'kelalan. The view were truly scenic, a blend of untamed natural beauty and modern advancements. The photos taken did not do justice to what's in front of our eyes. From KKIA to Lawas was a long journey in van (3+ hours) with only 1 pit stop. Kaki cramped. Posterior also numbed :D  The route from KKIA to Lawas was paved roads. However, travelling up to Buduk Nur, Ba'kelalan requires a 4x4 vehicle. The 2nd half of this journey up to the highland takes ±5-hours. The route up to Buduk Nur consists mostly of unpaved logging roads. In dry conditions, passengers in the back of a Hilux will need to wear masks as they'll end up covered in fine dust. If it rains, some sections of the road can become quite hazardous. During my trip, there was no rain, but a light shower occurred on the way down. This slightly wet the road but thankfully didn't turn it muddy. God is good! Some of the foods ar...
